NativityHyatt Extreme Christmas Hosts Largest Residential Nativity Scene

Did you know that South Florida is Home to one of the Largest Residential Nativity Displays for Christmas? rejoice

Well it is and is located in Western Fort Lauderdale.  This is the Nationally Recognized Christmas Home of Mark and Kathy Hyatt also known as Hyatt Extreme Christmas.  The Nativity Display spans over 1,836 Square Feet having an area of 54 feet linear by 34 feet deep.

Nativity North SideThe Hyatt Family will tell you that by far that their favorite part of Hyatt Extreme Christmas is their most Treasured “Nativity Scene”  which has its own set of Musical Angel Carolers that help express the true meaning of Christmas in a Hyatt Extreme Christmas way.

This section of the display is adorned with only “White Lights” and has a 34 foot pathway for visitors to walk that leads up to the Manger.  Upon entering Visitors are greeted with a Favorite Bible Verse that reads from

Matthew 19:14 New King James Version (NKJV)

“ Jesus said Let the Children Come”.

IMG_5563The Pathway of the Nativity is lined with Wisemen and Angels on each side and a multitude of Deers and Does grazing on Hay.

On the East Wall are 2 Large Signs Posted on each side of the Choir of Angels that read “Pray for Peace on Earth” and the second sign reads “Wisemen Still Seek Him” .

IMG_5558Unlike the rest of the Yard, the Nativity Display consists of only White Lights.  The Manager itself is 8 feet by 4 feet and is surrounded by animals like sheep, donkeys and camels.

The Manger Floor is lined with Hay having both Mary and Joseph and Wiseman looking down at the wooden cradle.                        Baby Jesus will appear on Christmas Eve.

_MG_0089As a Christian, I deeply value and understand the importance and significance of Christmas.  The Christmas Nativity scene tells the story of the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas morning. Born in a manger, Jesus came to save humankind from sin.

The Hyatt Family believes that the nativity scene portrays the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate this very holy day. Without it, none of Christmas nor its traditions would have evolved into the special day that it has become.

IMG_5548I believe that is even more important now, because kids go out and they don’t see any reminder of what Christmas is really all about.

Pope John Paul II spoke about the importance of Nativity scenes during the Angelus prayer, noting that they are “a sign of faith in God, Who in Bethlehem came ‘to live in our midst’.”
“As Christmas approaches,” he said, “many places are setting up nativity scenes, such as here in St. Peter’s Square. Large or small, simple or elaborate, the crib is a familiar and very expressive representation of Christmas. It is part of our culture and art, but above all it is a sign of faith in God, Who in Bethlehem came ‘to live in our midst’.”

Christ Born of Mary

Matthew 1:18-25 New King James Version (NKJV)

noel pathwayNow the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Joseph her husband, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Glory in the Highest

Luke 2:1-20 New King James Version (NKJV)

Mary was expecting the baby and it was almost time for her to give birth. Bethlehem was a small town and there was no place for them to stay. Finally, Joseph found a cave-like place where they could rest. This place was used by shepherds to protect their sheep in stormy weather. It was here that Mary gave birth to Jesus. The baby was wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in the straw in the manger.

Now, that night the shepherds were out in the fields guarding their sheep. Suddenly, there was a bright light which startled the shepherds. The light was so bright that it turned the night into daylight. Of course, the shepherds were frightened. Nothing such as this had ever happened. Soon an angel appeared and calmed them. The angel said:

“Fear not for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior; which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger” .

Then a larger group of angels appeared. They praised and glorified God and sang, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, and good will toward men.”
